Hooray, it’s English Tourism Week (18-27 March 2022)!

VisitEngland is proud to lead the annual English Tourism Week campaign celebrating our diverse, exciting and vibrant sector, and showcasing the quality, range and value of English tourism to stakeholders. 

Celebrate English Tourism week with a trip to The Malverns and explore some of the greatest views the country has to offer. You can also spend time exploring our unique town centres with independent shopping, heritage attractions and plenty of green open spaces.

If you’re local, then get out and explore all the fantastic places to visit right on your doorstep.


Malvern Highlights

  1. Malvern is made up of three town centres (Malvern Link, Barnards Green and Great Malvern) each with a different offer, with unique shopping and eating out experiences.
  2. Incredible views across the Severn Valley in Great Malvern.
  3. Discover the historic Great Malvern Priory with some of the oldest stain-glass windows in the country (besides York Minster) along with historic 15th century misericords.
  4. Our outdoor green spaces, including Priory ParkRose Bank GardensVictoria Park, Poolbrook Common, Malvern Link Common and of course the magnificent Malvern Hills.
  5. Evening entertainment hosted at various venues, including Malvern TheatresThe Old Con ClubMalvern CubeElmslie House, along with a variety of pubs on the live music scene.

Tenbury Wells Highlights

  1. Tenbury Wells for the unique array of independent ‘foodie’ shops and gift shops.
  2. Explore the town and learning about the unique history via the Tenbury Heritage QR Code Trail, visiting Tenbury Museum and seeing the world’s first prefabricated building at the historic Pump Rooms built in the 19th century.
  3. Green open spaces at The Burgage and Palmer’s Meadow and superb children’s play area right behind a main shopping street.
  4. Watch a show or a film at the art deco cinema and theatre complete with beautiful murals by scenic artist George Legge of Bryan’s Adamanta at The Regal.
  5. Stop for a refreshment or a bite to eat at a variety of venues.

Upton upon Severn Highlights

  1. Upton upon Severn is located on the mighty River Severn providing scenic river walks with unique flora and fauna.
  2. Upton upon Severn is made up of a unique range of independent shops.
  3. Explore the town’s unique and varied past at The ‘Pepperpot’ Upton Heritage Centre and the Tudor House Museum.
  4. The riverside Studio Art Gallery and art workshops hosted throughout the year.
  5. Hire a self-drive boat with Severn Expeditions from the Marina to enjoy spending some time out on the River Severn.
