Worcester 27 July – 3 August

Enjoy a superb selection of concerts at the 2024 Three Choirs Festival, with a programme inspired by the natural world and its influence on composers through works old and new, from Elgar, Holst and Stanford to Bob Chilcott and Judith Weir.

The Three Choirs Festival has brought outstanding music-making to Worcester, Gloucester, Hereford and the surrounding areas in turn every summer for over 300 years – their aim is to share music-making opportunities and the finest musical experiences with everybody. Highlights of this year’s festival include Elgar’s epic The Kingdom, Holst’s exotic masterpiece The Cloud Messenger, and Bob Chilcott’s thought-provoking The Angry Planet, with performances from the Three Choirs Festival Chorus, the Festival Youth Choir, Festival Voices, and the world-renowned BBC Singers. Between events, the welcoming atmosphere in our festival village makes it the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink and meet with friends. Why not take advantage of our food stalls and bar, while enjoying a performance on the community bandstand?

The festival comes to Malvern on Tuesday 30 July. Enjoy a guided walk around Great Malvern, hear Hereford Chamber Choir singing settings of texts by the Dymock poets in Great Malvern Priory, and find out more about the lives and work of the Dymock poets following the concert in a fascinating talk by experts and descendants of the poets. Round off your day with an exciting recital from Sophia Membery of the Royal College of Organists, with music including Jupiter from Holst’s The Planets.
