The Regal Cinema

This historic cinema is one of Tenbury Wells most iconic landmarks and has received only ‘Excellent’ and ‘Very good’ reviews on Trip Advisor. Visitors love the nostalgia of the restored art deco building and describe the atmosphere as warm and welcoming – “a throwback to cinema days gone by” commented one guest. Guests with accessibility needs comment that they were especially well cared for. You can stop by and have a look at the charming restored murals if there is nothing showing and make sure to stay into the evening to see the retro external lighting.

As a relatively new venture Hanley Vineyard has a smaller collection of reviews than other attractions, but they are all glowing – without a complaint in sight. The boutique vineyard offers an onsite lounge, bistro and craft studio as well as tours of the wine making process in the summer season. Visitors praise the beautifully restored barn which has views over the surrounding countryside, the locally sourced food including charcuterie, pies and cheeses and of course the wonderful wine.

Tenbury Wells museum is a small but perfectly formed representation of the history of the town, tucked away behind an intriguing red door. Every single Trip Advisor reviewer gave the museum a 5 star ‘Excellent’ review and many comment on how there is so much interesting information contained in this small museum. Visitors describe the museum as ‘charming’ and note that the volunteer staff are extremely knowledgeable and readily answer any question. Admission is free so its well worth spending an hour or so learning about the history of this fantastic market town.

St Mary’s Church

Situated next to the River Teme, just a short walk from Tenbury Wells high street, St Mary’s Church is a beautiful and peaceful spot to visit. Visitors describe this spot as a real ‘treasure’ and enjoy learning about the history of the Church including it’s royal connections, beautiful mosaics and carved roof panels. Visitors find the church and church yard to be well looked after and enjoy an ‘oasis of calm’ in this ancient building.

These beautiful gardens, landscaped by famous garden designer ‘Capability’ Brown in 1745 are a must see for anyone passing through Tenbury Wells. The park consists of five lakes, waterfalls, follies, a Grade II listed Jacobean barn, a ruin, and a Norman dovecote. Trip Advisor visitors note how the gardens are stunning no matter the season of your visit and the location is quiet and peaceful. Walking around the fine gardens is described as ‘heaven’ and many reviewers encourage visitors to take a seat at one of the benches and admire the views over the surrounding countryside. The Peacock Inn

With hops strung on the dark wood beams and lit wood burning stoves The Peacock in is a super cosy spot for locals and travellers alike. Gaining over 300 ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very Good’ reviews customers love to stop by for a slice of ‘olde worlde charm’ and ‘incredible’ food. The owners and staff of The Peacock are praised for their welcoming nature and commenters note they go the extra mile for their guests including arranging transport and providing fuss free support for those with mobility issues. Commenters describe fantastic food, luscious gravy, excellent Yorkshire Puddings, tender beef and even food that ‘rivals some of the top restaurants in London’. Sitting just on the edge of Tenbury Wells town centre The Pembroke is a very pretty black and white timbered traditional pub. This picture perfect pub lives up to its looks and is very well reviewed by the people of Trip Advisor. It’s highly recommended to enjoy your food in their lovely garden and the ease of dining with efficient service and hot food served quickly is appreciated by many guests. The Chef is praised time and again for serving up first class Sunday lunches, perfect chips, pies and long standing menu favourite the smoked haddock and asparagus lasagne which is ‘absolutely delicious’.

Recipient of the 2023 Trips Advisor Travellers Choice Award, cosy tapas and wine bar Unwined is one of Tenbury’s most buzzing evening spots. Sit in the comfortable chairs by the large windows and watch the world go by while sipping on one of their freshly made cocktails and nibbling on Mediterranean small plates. Visitors love the ambiance and inviting décor of Unwined and find the range of choice on the menu a big plus, noting there are ample options for vegetarian diners. The food is described a delicious and fresh – the lemon garlic chicken gets a particular mention by a few diners. Many visitors return again and again and recommend Unwined wholehearted to friends, why not join them?

With cuisine focussed around the tandoor oven naans come out fresh and curry’s are full of flavour and spiced just right. Many diners describe the atmosphere as warm and welcoming and thoroughly enjoy fluffy pilaf rice, spicy vindaloo and fresh garlic naan.

The Kings Head

Having had a fantastic renovation charming 16th century pub The Kings Head, located centrally in Tenbury Wells, re-opened to glowing reviews. Having received only ‘Excellent’ and ‘Very Good’ reviews for it’s Thai menu The Kings Head is a great place to eat and drink. The ‘beautiful’ food is described as a tourist attraction in it’s own right and visitors have described themselves as ‘amazed’ by the quality. They have a lovely patio with tasteful potted plants which adds to the pleasant atmosphere.

Town centre tea room Tabs is thriving – according to Trip Advisor reviewers. The young team have everything in hand creating a friendly atmosphere and providing smooth service. Serving light and airy Victoria Sponges and sandwiches with fresh and tasty fillings there’s not much more you could ask for in a traditional English Tearoom. Slices of cake and coffee are large and reasonably priced and staff are only too happy to rustle you up some comfort food.
