A visit to the pretty cottage creates a sense of closeness to the great musician and gives an insight into the surroundings and environment that inspired his work. The birthplace of a musical genius, home to his humble collection, with a quintessentially British cottage garden. See the views that inspired Elgar in all their autumnal glory.

Croome Court in the Frost

Stroll through the grandest of ‘Capability’ Brown landscapes with acres of parkland and a historic house, once home to the Earls of Coventry, at its heart. There’s acres of parkland, bird hides’ to watch our feathered friends, or you could simply stroll around the lake and miles of footpaths taking in the colours of Autumn and spotting mushrooms. The great garden designer isn’t praised for nothing, Croome shines in Autumn with its variety of trees providing a perfect picture of the season, its almost as if someone planned it that way! Top tip: head in early and catch the morning mist over the lake.

Dog friendly with a lovely café.

Exterior Shot of Brockhampton National trust

Brockhampton is an ancient estate, which has been utilised since the early Middle Ages and features a wealth of interesting features including a ruined Norman chapel and a beautiful Damson Orchard. Autumn is damson season so the orchard will be heavy with the deep purple fruits. As well as the beautiful medieval manor house there are waymarked walks, refreshments in the Granary and a quality second hand book shop. There is an orchard play trail for little ones to celebrate the harvest season.
