Event Description
A pilgrimage through the Frome Valley Churches, developed for Heritage Open Days visitors to enjoy.
The world’s shortest Camino walk is now from the Church of St James the Great, Cradley to the Church of St James the Great in Ocle Pychard. The route is approximately 25 kilometres long and is mostly on a combination of well-marked footpaths and quiet country lanes.
The route takes you via St James the Greater, Stanford Bishop and all three of these churches are dedicated to the same saint (so none greater than the other!) whose relics are buried in the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This little Camino walk also passes two other churches, both dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, one in Bishops Frome and the other in Much Cowarne.
For all Camino enthusiasts we will be providing credencials or pilgrim passports and sellos (stamps) will be available in all of the churches to collect along the way.
The village of Bishops Frome boasts two pubs where food, drink and accommodation is available.
