The Studio at Combe Lodge (Private Studio)
Once the home of Albert Brookes, inventor of the Hop Picking Machine, The Studio is located in a tranquil position overlooking a beautiful valley in Malvern Hills AONB. This large, private space has its own private entrance and a garden area for your sole use. A generous continental breakfast is provided for your stay and dietary requirements are happily catered for. There is King-sized bed, spacious living/dining area with reclining sofa and a shower room with all linens and toiletries provided. A single memory foam mattress is available if separate sleeping is preferred. The Studio is supplied with Netflix and WiFi on high speed broadband.
The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, egg-boiling machine, fridge-freezer and coffee and tea-making facilities and there is a plentiful supply of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and milk etc. Use of washer/dryer by arrangement.
Central heating is controlled by your room thermostat and hot water is 24/7 with clothes airers for the radiators as well as an undercover drying area outside for damp clothes and boots. The dining table can double up as a laptop work space and there are plenty of power sockets and charging points. There is a hairdryer and a cooling fan in the room and use of an iron is available by arrangement.
Outside in the verandah is a covered seating area and there is a BBQ for your use. The quiet garden areas offer a choice of seating in sun or shade; the garden catches the sun all day and the sunset views are tremendous. Situated close to excellent cycling and walking routes there is easy access to The Worcestershire Way, a 30-mile waymarked long-distance trail that runs along the valley opposite the Studio, and the Malvern Hills Biking Trail offers a range of routes across and around the Malvern Hills. Edward Elgar wrote many of his famous pieces in his home in the hamlet of Birchwood just to the south of us on the way into Malvern. The area is traversed with beautiful footpaths through woods and fields. We provide a muddy boots/bike-wash area and there are secure cycle locking points undercover in the verandah.
All of The Studio is your private space. You have sole use of the garden area, the only other people coming into it will be the postman or the occasional courier! Whilst the Studio is completely private and self-contained it is connected to our main home via 2 solid, locked doors. The adjacent area is not a daytime living area – our main living spaces are either downstairs or at the far end of the house. The car parking space is off road and hidden from sight. There are two manageable sets of six steps leading to the Studio which are well-lit at night.
