Malvern Hills District Council is encouraging residents to shop local this Christmas by offering free parking across the district.
This year the council is offering free parking in its town centre car parks in December leading up to Christmas.
Free parking will be available on the below days:
- Great Malvern and Barnards Green: all day on Fridays (1, 8, 15, 22 December)
- Tenbury Wells and Upton upon Severn: all day on Saturdays (2, 9 ,16 ,23 December).
These dates were chosen following discussion with town centre traders.
Cllr Beverley Nielsen, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “There are so many wonderful independent shops and businesses where you can find that perfect gift or enjoy some festive food and drink. With parking being one less thing to think about this Christmas, it is a great opportunity to enjoy what our town centres have to offer”.
Cllr John Gallagher, Portfolio Holder for Resources (with responsibility for parking), at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We are pleased to offer free parking leading up to Christmas once again. We hope it encourages residents to take advantage of the delights in our wonderful district, including such attractions as The Regal, Malvern Theatres, and more”.
