Taking place from Friday 18 – Sunday 20 August 2023 is Great Malvern’s 3rd Gin Festival – celebrating the many varieties of gin and gin cocktails available in the town. Come along to explore independent hospitality venues and the extensive range of gin they have to offer.
Whether you want to try locally distilled gin, a creative gin cocktail, something more unusual, or a non-alcoholic G&T, you’ll find it all within Great Malvern. There will be over 100 different gins across the venues plus a choice of non-alcoholic varieties
The event is organised by Malvern Hills District Council kindly supported by Malvern Gin and in partnership number of independent hospitality venues across Great Malvern. The Venues
The Mulberry Tree
The Mulberry Tree restaurant and bar will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday across the festival from 8am – 11pm. Food is served all day until 9pm. They are also hosting the Gin Masterclass Experience with Pistons Gin on Friday 18 from 7pm – 10pm as well as live music from electric acoustic folk band Nothing But Dust on Saturday 19 from 5 – 7pm
Bar Limon
Bar Limon will be serving their usual delicious tapas along side Spanish gins and cocktails. Hear music from swing quartet Sonic Bloom on Friday 18 from 7 – 9pm.
Stay for the evening in their sun trap Mediterranean style back garden and taste their range of Spanish inspired dishes and small plates.
The Fig Kitchen and Deli
Small plates, artisan burgers and cocktails are available Friday 10.30am – 3pm & 5 -10pm and Saturday 10am – 3.30pm & 5 – 10pm.
Join them for gin tasting and tapas with Malvern Gin on the Saturday, and stick around to hear Connie Gordon play from 7 – 9pm.
Malvern Cellar
With probably one of the most comprehensive collections of gin in The Malverns, don’t miss a trip to Malvern Cellar over the festival weekend. Hear expert talks on the history of gin 12pm until 2pm & 4pm until 6pm Friday & Saturday with G&T cocktails available to purchase. As well as music from Sonic Bloom Friday from 1-2pm.10% discounts on bottles of gin as well as alcohol free gins are available.
FAUN
Open and serving seasonal and locally sourced dishes Fri 9am – 4pm & 5pm – 10pm, Sat 9am – 4pm, Sun 9am – 3pm.
Taste specialist gin cocktails made using local and internationally award winning ingredients with St Maur on Saturday from 1-3pm, or hear acoustic folk singer – songwriter Sean Dixon on Sunday from 1 – 2pm.
OCC
As Great Malvern’s most popular after hours spot no Gin Festival Weekend would be complete without a visit to the OCC.
Relax in their stylish bar area or listen to live music from Hannah Beth Bailey and Sean Dixon on Saturday from 6-8pm.
Great Malvern Hotel
Great Malvern Hotel serves food and drink, including a good range of local gins. Meet in their pub style area or cosy up in The Nook.
Open from 10.30am – 11pm with food on offer Friday and Saturday 12 – 2pm and 5.30 – 8pm.
Weavers of Malvern
This modern, microbar will be serving up specialist gins all weekend and meet the experts from Ludlow Gin on Saturday. Live Music with Robsick Rob Saturday 7.30pm and DJ Soul Sunday 2 – 7pm in the garden.
Open from 12pm – midnight on Friday and Saturday and Sunday from, 12pm – 11pm. No food served but welcome to bring your own.
The Water Cure
Super stylish city style cocktail bar The Water Cure has over 25 different gins to sample, in a simple G&T or one of their expertly crafted cocktails.
Opens Friday 5-11:30pm and Saturday 2 -11:30pm. Closed Sunday.
The Red Lion
The Red Lion serves speciality gins and hosts live music on Friday and Saturday. Bag a spot in their great front yard to enjoy what will hopefully be a sunny weekend.
Friday and Saturday 12pm until midnight, Sunday 12pm until 11pm.
The Abbey Hotel
Enjoy the sumptuous interior of The Abbey Hotel bar and restaurant. They’re offering Chase Gin speciality cocktails and also serve food.
Open daily from 12pm to 9.30pm.
Great Malvern Farmers Market
The popular Great Malvern Farmers Market returns to the Priory Grounds over Gin Festival Weekend on Saturday 19. As well as the usual quality local produce the market will be hosting stalls from Wildjac Gin, Malvern Bitters and Malvern Gin.
