Event Description

An opportunity to hear one of Elgar’s last great captivating and surprising compositions played live by the Lumos Quartet, accompanied by a pianist, and interspersed with talks by Elgar expert, Richard Westwood-Brookes. Richard will give us a fascinating insight into the emotions and the perhaps unexpected life lived by Edward Elgar and how that translated into his later works.

Join us for this one-day event on Sunday 11 December and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere at The Firs with a complimentary mince pie.

This event is for everyone, if you know Elgar’s music or not, we would love to welcome you and share some of Elgar’s story and his music with you.

There are a choice of time slots to book: 11.30am and 2pm. The approximate length of the talk and performance is 1 hour.

We’re asking for £1 to reserve your place (normal admission costs/membership to The Firs applies and is not included in the reservation price).
