A trainee teacher, who really dreams of leaving behind his life in Bhutan and becoming a singer in Australia, hasn’t put much effort into his training, By way of punishment his first teaching post is in Lunana, a remote village with no electricity or indoor plumbing. A “schoolroom” that has no supplies other than a Yak to supply heating fuel, but the children are eager to learn. Filmed in the setting of a mountain location of Bhutan, it touches us gently with emotions of innocent people. Whilst the storyline is familiar, this simple movie is utterly captivating.
